Tottenham fan reveals he was forced to report racism from fellow Spurs supporter during north London derby
A Tottenham fan was forced to report a fellow supporter for racism during the north London derby against Arsenal on Saturday.The 2018/19 season has been plagued with several vile incidents of racism and fans have been urged to speak out against offenders.2

Racial slurs were overheard at Wembley

And during Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with the Gunners at Wembley, The Sun’s deputy head of sport Dean Scoggins witnessed abuse first hand.He said: “In the stands at Wembley with my son, I confronted the supporter in the seat behind me after his third racial slur.“I wasn’t sure I heard the first one right – but I heard what he said about [Heung-min] Son and reacted with the last shout, either in reference to Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi or Tottenham’s Moussa Sissoko. “Standing face to face with the racist, I told him I wasn’t going to accept it at my club. And he looked shocked.“I told him, ‘We support the colour of the shirts’.The journalist revealed the lack of support he received from the Spurs fans around him when the alleged racist’s friends began to turn on him.2

However, Scoggins was impressed with Tottenham’s classy response when he decided to report the fan for what he said.“They have dealt with it superbly with a text service,” he added. “Prompt, understanding and classy.“It’s not an easy thing to do but I’d urge you to report this type of behaviour – either to stewards, club security or at www.kickitout.org.”
