Jim White interviewed Duchatelet live on air on December 21 and he revealed that the sale could be completed in January.A further update was given by the talkSPORT host on how talks are progressing. He said: Ive been building their hopes up because I want this to happen.Ive got a personal interest in it having met Duchatelet.“He admitted to me it was the biggest mistake he could have made in business buying Charlton because he cant devote the time he should give it and he was quite open and admitted that.So now sell it, as Ive been telling Roland Duchatelet.”He continued: “I was told on Friday that talks were moving, and moving fast and it could happen this week – that could still be the case.Last night, it is my understanding, a consortium spoke with some interested parties at this end here in England and a one-and-a-half hour conference call took place involving the USA and Australia.Championship strugglers Charlton release statement calling for fans' support amid protests 2
Addicks fans have voiced their displeasure at the way owner Duchatelet is running the club
The talks were hugely positive. During the course of the week this should continue to move forward. But as I say, and I emphasise this at this stage, the talks were described to me this morning as hugely positive, involving a representative in the USA, a representative in Australia and it is all about unlocking the money so the bid can be made to Duchatelet.I can confirm this morning that Duchatelet is aware of the talks and he remains a willing seller.
